Old Maid Card Game Rules
An exciting game for children ages 4-10. The Old Maid Card Game can be played with 2 to 12 players using a standard deck of cards, plus one Joker.
Dealing Any person can shuffle the deck and deal the cards out, one at a time to each person, until no cards are left. The cards do not have to come out even. The Goal To gather pairs of cards, and not to be left with the Joker at the end. The Play Every person takes all the pairs from their hand and places them face down on the table. If a person has 3 of a kind, they remove only 2 of those 3 cards. The dealer then presents their hand, laid out face down, to the person on their left, who then draws 1 card from their cards. The person lays down any pairs that have been created by the new card. They then offer their hand to the person on their left. Play continues like this until all cards have been paired but one - the Joker, which can’t be paired - and the person who holds that card is the Old-Maid! Abnormality If anyone has discarded 2 cards that are not a pair, (causing 3 cards instead of 1 to be left), the person who made the error loses.
