Joker Solitaire Rules
A great solitaire game to play. Joker solitaire is played using a standard deck of cards plus 2 jokers
Summary
Of most Klondike variants, this game probably needs the most skill since it requires that the player make many calculated choices. Joker Solitaire is usually played Las Vegas-style: The cards of the stock are turned up one card at the same time, rather than three at a time, and the participant goes through the stock only once.
Jokers The two jokers need to be different from each other as 1 symbolizes any black card, and therefore the other will be any red card. When the two jokers within the pack vary, the more elaborate 1 can function as the black joker, and the other 1 is the red joker. (In decks of cards where the jokers are identical, utilize the extra advertising card that usually is offered with the pack as the red joker, or mark the face of 1 of the 2 jokers using a pen.) How a Joker is used In Joker Solitaire. When the black joker is found within the tableau, it may be designated as any black card, such as a black queen or a black 3. The participant is not required to specify the actual suit. Once the black joker is designated as the black king, it may be placed on an open area. Once it is chosen to become an A, it's positioned above to create 1 of the 4 foundations, though the participant does not have to specify if the joker is a club ace or spade ace. This joker will become both of these aces once the club deuce or spade deuce is played onto it. When a black joker is flipped over in the stock, or perhaps whenever it appears as the top card of the talon (waste pile), it may be played as any required black card to the tableau as long as each such black cards are not within the tableau or foundations already. Instance: A person wouldn't be allowed to use a black joker as a black six, if both black sixes were already in the tableau or foundations. Whenever a black joker is a top card on the talon and can't always be played to the tableau since black cards are the top cards of the piles, it isn't played, and the next card of the stock is flipped over. All these identical rules apply in the same way with regard to red jokers and red cards. Tableau Rule One important regulation is that when a joker is turned up from the stock, or when it is the top card of the talon, it won't always be played directly to the foundations - it must 1st be played to the tableau before being put in the foundations. Example: When the red joker becomes the top card of the talon and the player wishes to apply it as a red ace, it needs to be put on a black deuce within the tableau before then being played to the foundations as a red ace. Therefore, the player should be careful to not automatically play a black deuce upon a corresponding black ace within the foundations, as they may decide to keep available the option of using the black deuce within the tableau regarding the possible play of a red joker being a red ace. Substituting in Joker Solitaire When a joker can be used for a specific card, and this card is later turned up within the stock or tableau, the player must use that card to exchange it with the matching joker. The card is positioned wherever the joker was, either within the talon, tableau, or foundations. After the exchange, the player is permitted to apply the joker for another card, and this process can later be repeated so that throughout the game, a joker can be used for several different cards. To demonstrate: The red joker can be a red seven in the tableau which is on a black eight, having a black six over the red joker. Should the 7 of diamonds be turned up from the stock, it is substituted with the red joker, and that is positioned as the top card of the talon. This red joker is now used as another playable red card. Another example of Joker Solitaire: The black joker will be the 3 of clubs within the foundations, and the 3 of clubs is turned face up from one of the downward facing stacks in the tableau. The 3 of clubs is substituted using the black joker within the club foundation pile, and also the joker is put upon the pile within the tableau in which the 3 of clubs once was. The joker may now be used as another black card, or the participant could just leave the joker within the tableau and state what card it'll be at a later time. When a joker is declared, the player cannot change the decision and decide on a alternative card unless the joker is substituted, as already explained. If a participant cannot play a joker if it becomes available, they proceed play by turning up cards in the stock. A player has an opportunity of removing the joker from the game by placing it out of play. Once a player does so, the joker cannot be applied once more. Winning Joker Solitaire When the participant succeeds in playing fifteen or more cards to the foundations, it's a win; twenty five or more cards "up top" is a double victory, and every card up top is a triple victory.
