Crazy Eights Rules
A fun game for children and adults to play. Crazy Eights can be played with 2 to 4 players using a standard deck of cards
The Goal Be the first one to get rid all your cards. The Setup To decide the dealer, everyone draws a card and the one that draws the highest card is the dealer. With two people playing, each person is given 7 cards. If 3 or 4 people are playing, each person is given 5 cards. The left over cards are positioned face down on the table, creating a draw pile. One card from the draw pile is flipped over to begin the discard pile. Game play The person on the left of the dealer begins the game, and the play moves to the right. On each turn, players add to the discard pile by placing a card with the same suit or rank that is on the discard pile. A person who can’t match up the card on the top of the discard pile has to draw cards until he or she can play. You are permitted to take cards off the draw pile even if you have cards that you can play. Once the draw pile is gone, a player who can’t discard passes his or her turn to the next player. With 8s being wild, you can play them at any time during your turn. When a person discards an 8, he or she gets to choose which suit they want to make it. The next person has to play a card of that suit or, if they choose to, they can play another eight if they have one. Winning The first person to run out of cards wins. With 4 people, you can play with partners. To win with partners, the game is over when both people have discarded all their cards.
