From the time children start to talk they start asking question. They always ask "Why" every time you try to explain something to them. Teaching them can be challenging at times but to watch them learn and grow with the new knowledge they just learned is wonderful.
Since the time my children were young, they were attracted to playing cards. The shapes and numbers, along with the bright colours, got their attention from the first time they saw the cards. It was cute to watch them make up their own game. It wasn’t long before they wanted to learn how to play a “real game”.
One of the first games I taught them was “Go Fish” and they loved to play it from the start. To teach them the first few hands, we would lay our cards on the table so we could see what we had, and then we would start to play and I would explain each move as we went along. It wasn’t long before they knew how to play and we kept the cards in our hand.
Playing cards with my children was always fun and exciting. I knew they were learning and having fun at the same time, and playing as a family, brought us closer together. It was great to watch them play on rainy days when they couldn’t go outside and play.
Listed below are a variety of rules so your kids can play. I hope they enjoy them as much as my kids did when they were young.
