Card Game War Rules

A fun way for children to learn math.

In this Card Game War, it is best played with 2 players using the aces through 10s of a standard deck of cards

Card Game War

Do your children struggle to learn math? The game of Math War allows you to help your child build calculating speed in a fun and exciting manner.

You are going to need several decks of cards. Math cards are normal playing cards without the king, queen, and jack. As a rule it’s one deck per person. Math decks contain forty cards, so one game of War allows kids to perform twenty problems, and they hear their challenger work twenty more.

How to Play Simple War
All players turn over one card. The person with the highest number will win the battle, putting all of their cards and all of the cards they seized from other players into their pile. When there is a tie for the highest card, everyone battles: all players lay 3 cards down, and then another card is placed face up. The highest card will seize all the cards on the table. If there is a tie again, repeat this process until somebody gets the highest card. The person who has the highest number will seize all the cards played during that turn.

Winning the game
When everyone has gone through the whole deck, count the cards. The person with the most cards is the winner. Or if you prefer, you can shuffle the remaining cards and play until someone collects all of the cards.

Variations of the Card Game War
For variations of this game; the tie breaker, where you have 3 cards down and 1 card up becomes 2 cards down and 2 cards up. For more complex games, the tie breaker is different: the cards are put in a center and left there for the next card to be flipped over.
