66 Card Game

An adult trick taking game.

66 card game can be played with 2 players
using a single deck of 24 cards (starting with 9s).

The goal of the 66
The goal of the game is to take tricks in order to gain certain amount of points.

The Deal
Decide on a dealer at random. Then the players deal in turn. The cards are shuffled and cut by the other player. Then the dealer gives 6 cards one-by-one. After dealing the dealer opens the card from the deck and puts it under it. This card defines a trump.

The Play
The dealer's opponent starts the game.

The player can start the game with any card. The other player can throw any card as well. The trick is taken by the player who has thrown higher rank of the same suit or a trump.

After the trick players take card from the deck so that the number of cards in hand was always 6. If the deck is over, the second player should throw the card of the same suit that the 1st player leaded, if there is no appropriate card, he or she should throw the trump.

The player, who has taken a trick, leads next. The player who has marriage may announce it by leading the King or Queen.

The points are counted during the game, according to the cards in the tricks.

Ace – 11 points
King – 4 points
Queen – 3 points
Jack – 2 points
10 – 10 points
9 – 0 points
Marriage – 20 points
Marriage of trump – 40 points

If the player understands that he or she has already taken 66 points, they can stop the game.

The peculiarities
*10 is higher than King, Queen or Jack
*The marriage can be announced only before the deck is over.
*If the player understands that with the points in the tricks and the cards in hand he or she can take 66 points, they can cover the deck with the trump that lies under the deck, and play with the cards left (closed game).

The scores
If the winner's opponent has taken 33 and more points (including tricks and marriages), the winner records 1 point.

If the winner's opponent has taken less than 33 points (including tricks and marriages), the winner records 2 points.

If the winner's opponent has taken 0 points, the winner records 3 points.

In closed game the winner records 3 points.

If in closed game the player who announced it has not taken 66 points, the opponent records 3 points.
